Yes, you can become a sponsor if you are:

  • 3. Not receiving social assistance from government other than a disability
  • 4. Must be in good financial standing and be able to support them.
  • 5. Meet all other eligibility requirements.

The spouse you are planning to sponsor must be:
  • 1.At least 18years of age.
  • 2.The relationship between you and the person you are sponsoring must be genuine.
  • 4.Must have no criminal or medical issue
My spouse is living in Canada on a visitor visa am I able to sponsor her/him?
  • Yes, if your spouse is in Canada on a visitor, study or student permit you are able to sponsor her/him.
  • During the period the application is being processed your spouse will be eligible to work on open work permit.
What is the difference between applying for spousal sponsorship Inland rather than from overseas?
