  • How can I become a Canadian Citizen?

    You can become a Canadian citizen after becoming a permanent residence and residing in Canada for 3 continuous years after landing.

  • How can I obtain my Immigrant Visa?

    By applying and completing the procedures and being accepted by one of the Canadian embassies or consulates throughout the world.

  • Is there a benefit in using a consultant for immigration?

    A professional consultant or attorney can increase the chances of your success. A professional knows the regulations very well and can overcome any difficulties throughout the process. If the immigration officer refuses your file for no justifiabl reasons ,your consultant may be able to overturn your case and obtain a positive result.

  • Who qualifies for an immigrant visa?

    Immigrant Visas are given to eligible skilled workers , businessmen and close famil members of Canadian citizens and permanent residents who have gone through the entire immigration procedure and been accepted.

  • Who can I include in my application for an immigrant visa?

    You can include your spouse and dependent children in the application. Children mus be under 22 years of age on the day the Immigration Officer receives your documents. However, if they are over 22 years of age , they must be students and financial dependent on their parents.

  • How long will it take for my case to be processed?

    There are many factors involved. The most important are the number and the type of applications a visa post receives. The application for permanent residence visa may take as short as 10 months , but if processed in India, China or Damascus , a skilled worker application may take as long as 60 months or more. Please note that Investor or Provincial Nomination Programs take much less time to be processed than skilled worker application.

  • Will my dependents & I be required to undergo a medical test?

    Yes. You and your dependent will be required to undergo a medical examination by the designated physicians of the Canadian government.

  • Must non-acompanied family members also undergo medical tests?

    Yes. All members of your family whether they will accompany or not must undergo the medical examinations.

  • What if a family member fails the medical test ?

    No. If one of the member fails the medical examinations even though not accompanying the rest of the family will be disqualified and they will not be allowed to immigrate to Canada. However, recently there have been certain Class-Action cases in this regard.

  • Can we visit our own family doctor for the medical check-up?

    No, Citizenship and Immigration Canada will accept medical test results that are provided by the designated medical doctors.

  • What are your professional fees, does it vary for each category?

    Our fees are very competitive and reasonably priced. We quote our legal fees in a block fee instead of hourly charges. There are never hidden charges or fees. Once you retain us you will pay and the first payment up front to begin working on your case. The second payment is due when you receive AOP (Acknowledgment of Receipt) your file no. The third payment is due when you receive notice of your interview, interview waiver or medicals.

  • What happens if I get married during process of my application?

    You need to report the matter immediately to your consultant, lawyer or the visa post handling your file.

  • Will my file be jeopardized reporting my marriage to IO?

    In the contrary, if you do not report your marriage during the period your applications is processed your file may be refused due to misrepresentation or with-holding information from the officer.

  • Where do I apply and submit my application for PR?

    You must apply in the jurisdiction that citizenship and Immigration Canada has determined. Your application must be submitted to the Canadian Visa office of your country of residence or country of your nationality or the country you have been legally admitted for at least one year.

  • Does it matter if my representative is a Canadian Citizen?

    Yes, it matters. Before hiring a representative , you should always ask whether he or she is a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident. This is important because Citizenship and Immigration Canada has made it a policy to deal only with representatives who are a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Residents. Only Certified Consultant by the Canadian Government can represent you and effectively protect your rights.

  • May I immigrate to Canada & have my dependents join me later ?

    If you are the main applicant you may establish yourself in Canada before your family joins you, however, they must arrive before the expiration date in your visa.

  • Will my family and I need valid passport?

    Yes, each member of your family must have their own valid passport.

  • Must I fulfill any requirement to maintain my PR status in Canada?

    Yes, you must reside in Canada for a minimum two years or 730 days out of every five years period to maintain your permanent residence status in Canada.

  • How do I retain Scholar Immigration Canada to represent me?

  • Can I include my parents, brothers & sisters in my application ?

    No, your spouse and children are considered your family members only and parents, brothers , and sisters cannot be included in your application for permanent residence.

  • When do I pay the government fees?

    All government processing fees must be submitted to the visa post concurrently with the submission of your application . The government processing fees are non-refundable.

  • What is The Right of Landing Fee and who has to pay it?

    All adults who are 22 years of age and over immigrating to Canada must pay this fee and can do so any time before issuance of visa or landing documents. The Right of Landing Fee is fully refundable if for any reason the application or accompanying dependents do not land in Canada as permanent residents. At present the landing fee is $490 Canadian dollars.

  • Am I required to live in the province I originally applied ?

    Accordance with Canadian Charter of Right and Freedom, and “Mobility Rights” all Canadians whether citizens or permanent resident of Canada are free to live and work in any part of the country; therefore, once you become a permanent resident of Canada , you will be able to live , work and engage in business activities in any Canadian province and territory.

  • What is a background check ?

    Every applicant, who is 18 years of age and over , planning to immigrate to Canada must undergo background check, which will include security , criminality, and related checks.

  • Differences between the investor ,entreprenuer & self-employed?

    There are many differences in the three categories of business class.

    Investors must make a CAN $400,000 investment but will not be subject to monitoring or other regulatory requirement once in Canada.

    Entrepreneurs come to Canada and must establish a business and participate in the management of a business, and must create at least one additional job for someone other the their immediate family.

    Self-employed persons are selected based on their intention and ability to create a job for themselves in the cultural or athletic activities or to purchase and manage a Farm in Canada.

  • Do I need a relative in Canada to be qualified for immigration?

    No, even if you do not have a relative in Canada you will be qualified for immigration to Canada.

  • Will I need to be registered or licensed to work in Canada?

    Many occupations require registration or licensing to work in Canada such as physicians ,dentists, lawyers, accountants, teachers , etc. However, there are some occupations that you may work without having to obtain a license.

  • How can I immigrate to Canada quickly?

    How fast you may immigrate to Canada depends upon many factors, such as the country you are applying from and category of your application. In general , you can immigrate to Canada quicker through Investor or Provincial Programs.
